Thank you, thank you, thank you! The Winter Fair de-brief

Thank you, thank you, thank you! The Winter Fair de-brief

Wow, what a day we all had at The Winter Fair. We just wanted to wish Karen all the best and hope she recovers very soon, you were missed.

The Winter Fair was one of the best events we’ve had at the school and showed what a wonderful community we have and how much fun we all can have when we come together. It was so good seeing all the children engaged and smiling. We had a record number of stalls, record number of volunteers, record number of raffle prizes and record attendance. We all raised just under £9k which is an outstanding achievement!

We’re only going to grow from here too. So thank you.

The School and the PTFA just wanted to thank a few people, starting with:

  • All the Parents/Carers that donated Tombola items and Wishing Tree envelopes in the weeks leading up to the event. Both these stalls were crowd favourites on the day and will be coming back next year. Thank you.
  • To Sarah, Freya, Vivien and the super creative team who put together such a memorable Santa’s Grotto. The children, and parents for that matter, are still talking about it.
  • Everyone who baked and cooked the wonderful cakes sold on the day, the stall was selling for the whole 3 hours and they all tasted so good. Thank you.
  • All the volunteers who signed up on the Volunteer website (over 70 people signed up!) and how well each of the groups worked together to get the stalls up and running was fantastic to see. I will send out a feedback survey this week, if each of the volunteers could please quickly fill it in so that we can improve how things were done for future events.
  • If the Stall runners have any receipts for reimbursement please send them to the PTFA email address. williampattenPTFA@gmail.com
  • Thank you to Jen and Helen for creating and ordering the wonderful WP merchandise. They sold a lot of items on Saturday and you will see more and more of these items around the school and the community going forward. Great to see them already being worn.
  • All the wonderful local businesses that donated to the raffle. A list of all the generous businesses are listed below. Please support these businesses of Stoke Newington when you can.
  • Thank you to everyone who sold and bought raffle tickets, the iPad went to a child of the school which was a great result. Congratulations Jonah.

Finally, the PTFA will sit down in the coming weeks and distribute the Social Calendar for the rest of the school year. We have some exciting events coming in 2024 and will distribute information about them in the New Year.

We also have the Instagram (@william_patten_school_ptfa) and Facebook page up and running and thank you to Helen and Erica for making it look fantastic. Let’s get as many followers as we can to spread the word on what we are doing. We will also unveil the PTFA webpage in the New year, which will be exciting and have everything that we’re working on moving forward.

We hope that you all have a wonderful time with your families in the coming weeks and you all come back safe and well for an exciting term come January 8th.

Thank you again.
